I arrived on a Saturday morning with no fixed plan and ended up spending most of the weekend inside a single square kilometre \u2014 and felt I had barely scratched the surface.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A neighbourhood that rewards slowness<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sit at a miradouro at dusk and watch the Tagus River turn gold. Follow the sound of fado drifting from a half-open door in the evening. Find a tasco serving grilled sardines and house wine for almost nothing.
